Něco o Bloodhound gang
Když jsem se poprvé setkal se světem kapely Bloodhound Gang na albu "Hooray For Boobies" z roku 1999, dost mě dostal. Sarkasmus, ironie a většinou sympatická sprostota v textech se prolínala s podobnou "bezbožností", pokud jde o hudbu. Hit "The Bad Touch" znali v té době všichni, ale celá deska byla výbornou jízdou na pomezí popu, rocku a hip hopu, při které jste nevěděli, jestli jednoduchost je východiskem z nouze, neumětelstvím, nebo rafinovaným úmyslem, a nevadilo vám to. Smíchat neodolatelně refrén z Falca s basovou linkou a refrénem od Frankie Goes To Hollywood a okořenit to riffem od Metallicy neumí každý.
Po obrovském úspěchu celé desky, která byla tažena zmíněným singlem, čekalo hodně lidí brzo novou desku. Ta však měla skoro gunsrosesovský osud, několikrát byla téměř vydána a zase odložena, až vyšla konečně letos s názvem "Hefty Fine". Na první pohled otráví natěšené její délka, bez čtyřminutové vycpávky ticha následovaným hláškou na konci (což přestalo být zajímavé i vtipné před mnoha lety) necelých 36 minut - to se běžte, hoši, vycpat.
Po úvodu navážejícím se do Eminema a Willa Smitha však s úvodním tvrdým riffem "Balls Out" můžete zajásat, že vaši milí sprosťáci (i když vyměnili bubeníka) jsou zpět v plné formě, můžete také zavzpomínat na staré Beastie Boys. Následující singl nebo ještě spíš "I'm The Least You Could Do" můžete pouštět vaší lehce alternativní slečně, neumí-li anglicky, díky syntezátorům/klavíru ve slokách snese kytary v refrénu nebo tuc-tuc rytmus. Vlastně i anglicky může umět, protože pochytat všechny souvislosti textů, i když jsou v bookletu, je pro nerodilého mluvčího nemožné. Ale jako Cimrman vkládají BG známá slůvka, kterým rozumí všichni.
Ano, jestli v něčem mozek kapely Jimmy "Pop" Franks neztratil koule, tak jsou to texty. Už jen některé názvy si určitě vykoledovaly přelepku pro rodiče a samotné texty opět plné sexuálních a společenských narážek si servítky neberou vůbec. Poslední "No Hard Feelings" je opravdu lahůdka, takhle drsné a sprostě vtipné vypořádání se s bývalou přítelkyní by mohli závidět leckteří "drsní" hiphopeři. Ale i ostatní stojí za přečtení. Za polovinou desku oživí host, místo kdysi avizovaných N'Sync Jimmyho doplní kvalitnějším zpěvem zpěvák HIM Ville Valo. I když nejde o žádnou bombu, krácení by neškodilo, hodí se první a poslední zpomalení a zjemnění atmosféry desky. Po slabších momentech přijde už zmíněná "No Hard Feelings", jejíž refrén z hlavy jen tak nedostanete. Celkově je deska celistvější (což při takové "délce" není moc těžké) a písničkovější než předchůdce.
Někteří se tak spokojí dojmem, že je vše v pořádku. Ale... Oproti předchozímu opusu novince chybí neotřelá a přitom funkční mezistylová spojení, kterými dřív Bloodhound Gang zaujali. Nikdo nechce po téhle kapele sofistikovanou hudbu, ale byl nesmysl čekat něco víc než kopie, i když dobré, pár předchozích hitů? Bez textu je "Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss" tucka, která nemá zas tak daleko k hrůzám typu Verona. Singl "Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo" je v refrénu příliš podobný neopunkovým partičkám typu Blink 182, podobně jako celá "Pennsylvania", a právě od těch se dřív Bloodhound Gang přece jen odlišovali.
Na desku "Hefty Fine" se dá pohlížet jako na odpovídajícího následovníka svých předchůdců. Nebo jako na opakovaný vtip, který pomalu přestává být vtipem. Vidím to pořád ještě blíž té první možnosti, jsou mi svým "nic nám není svaté" přístupem sympatičtí, ale měli by začít být na sebe náročnější, přece jen už nejsou teenageři.
